About The School |
|||||
Halterworth Primary School opened in 1971. It is just on the outskirts of the market town of Romsey, about six miles from Southampton and within easy reach of the New Forest and the coast. We have beautiful grounds with extensive playing fields and a conservation area. A team of staff, parents, children and members of the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers have created woodland walks, two large ponds with viewing platforms, Halterworth Hill, wildflower gardens and an outside classroom. We have recently invested in adventure playgrounds, partly sponsored by industry and the Halterworth School Association, and further money has been spent on a paved Quiet Area with pergolas, planters and eight gameboard picnic tables. The school is well resourced with an extensive library, science and maths equipment in each classroom and a central resource area which houses the audio-visual equipment, specialist maths and science equipment, RE and multi-cultural collection, history and geography project boxes and the Romsey Special Educational Needs Resource collection. The school has a purpose-built ICT Suite, and each of our classrooms has an interactive white-board. Displays of children's work are evident in every classroom and shared areas to communicate and share some of the work going on and show the value we place on our children’s achievements. Breakfast Club From the beginning of this term Halterworth has had its own on site breakfast club and it has been a massive success. Please click here for further information.
