Halterworth School Association (PTA)
We have a very active Parent Teacher Association called the Halterworth School Association (HSA) which raises thousands of pounds each year to buy equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education. But it is much, much more that just fundraising! The HSA creates closer links between home and school and brings staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school. And it’s fun! All parents and members of the school community can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available, and all parents are automatically members of the HSA when they join our school. Not all events are run purely as fundraisers. For example, children’s discos, and seasonal fayres are run with the aim of providing the children and their families with enjoyment and to develop a community spirit.
Previously, the HSA has raised funds to improve the playgrounds for the children and we have a multi-use games area on the KS2 playground for ball games, as well as a climbing frame called a “pick up sticks”. On the KS1 playground we have a pirate ship and a train, as well as a fit-trail alongside the playground.
Last year they raised funds to help purchase our new Outdoor Fitness Equipment which was installed in November/December this year.
