Welcome...

Thank you for your interest in our school – Halterworth Primary School. I hope that this site will encourage you to visit us and learn more about our work.

Halterworth is a popular, vibrant and welcoming school on the outskirts of Romsey in Hampshire. We work hard to achieve high standards in learning, offering many opportunities to learn creatively and explore imaginative ideas. Most importantly to us, children are encouraged to think deeply about their learning and their place in our world. Our staff work as a team, continually reviewing individual progress and exploring new strategies to inspire our young learners.

Your children are our top priority: we keep them at the heart of our work and aim to provide a successful and memorable educational experience.

Take time to explore our website, class blogs and links to supporting documents.

We make a clear commitment to our children to offer them the opportunity to perform on a professional stage, participate in school sports teams and learn an instrument. Along with a wide range of engaging trips, we have participated in Global Rock Challenge with our Y5 pupils. In 2017 we reached second place in the Southern finals, with our partner school Wellow achieving third place – what a creative team we are! In 2014 & 2015, Halterworth were the overall winners in the Southern Region. Each year we work with a completely new group of Y5 pupils and operate a fully inclusive and non selective approach and enjoy immense support from our dedicated RC team who design & make hair, make-up, costumes and set. We have inspired  other schools and see many of our previous choreography and set concepts reflected in their performances too.

Photographs from our 2016 stunning Rock Challenge performance of Beowulf are here for you to enjoy.

In 2016 we also celebrated sporting successes at The Hampshire Games with over 40 pupils taking part! See PE/Sport for more information . We anticipate that 2017 will see even more teams and pupils represented.

Our Governors work hard to ensure that the schools achieves its very best, take time to review some of their voluntary work here.
